“A troubled and afflicted mankind looks to us, pleading for us to keep our rendezvous with destiny; that we will uphold the principles of self-reliance, self-discipline, morality, and, above all, responsible liberty for every individual that we will become that shining city on a hill.” — Ronald Wilson Reagan

Israel’s Goal

Retired Marine James Zumwalt has some thoughts on the Israel-Hamas war:

From Israel’s standpoint, the Gaza war is a convergence of the “perfect storm” — the right conditions by which to start the journey towards a final, unavoidable confrontation with Iran.  Pressing these conditions to its advantage, Israel must continue the fight in Gaza until a critical objective is achieved. Unlike the 2006 conflict in Lebanon, Israel lacks the luxury this time of settling for a tie. Time, quite simply, is not on its side.

As they say, read the whole thing.

Hillary Talks Tough On Iran

We all know that when it comes to Clintons, sometimes there’s a vast gulf between words and deeds. However, for what they’re worth, Hillary’s words on Iran are quite interesting, and quite different from what the CodePink lefties wanted to hear, I bet:

She said they would try all diplomatic strategies including trying to convince other members of the U.N. Security Council that a nuclear Iran is in nobody’s best interest. However, all options remain on the table because a nuclear Iran is “unacceptable.”

Is it just me, or does that sound a lot like President Bush?

A Tale Of Two Tax Errors

The lefty double standard strikes again.

Hardworking Joe the Plumber, who merely asked Obama a simple question that concerned him, turns out to have a $1,000 tax lien. The left went ballistic.

Obama’s Treasury Secretary-designate has failed to pay $34,000 in taxes, and suddenly it’s “a common mistake,” “an honest mistake,” “not at all disqualifying,” and Obama is confident “Tim Geithner will be confirmed.

Could the hypocrisy be any more blatant?
