Democrat: “You Don’t Deserve To Keep All” Your Money

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) seems to think that she’s living in the olden days, when the only media outlets were the Big Three networks, the NYT, and the LA Times:

“I’ll put it this way. You don’t deserve to keep all of it and it’s not a question of deserving because what government is, is those things that we decide to do together. And there are many things that we decide to do together like have our national security. Like have police and fire. What about the people that work at the National Institute of Health who are looking for a cure for cancer,” Schakowsky said.

Turner Wins Weiner’s Seat, Lefties Try Desperate Spin

Democratic party leaders insisted the loss wasn’t a harbinger of things to come. “It’s a very difficult district for Democrats,” said Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, noting its Democratic margins there tend to be the second lowest of all the districts in New York City.

Conservative Republican Takes Advantage Of Obama Delay, Names His Own Bill “American Jobs Act”

Gotta love it. Since President Obama hasn’t yet–nearly a week after his address to both houses of Congress–delivered the text of his “American Jobs Act,” Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) decides to name his own bill the American Jobs Act.

The American Jobs Act introduced in the House of Representatives looks quite different from the version President Obama outlined in his speech to Congress. Instead of hiking taxes on working Americans to pay for another stimulus, Rep. Louie Gohmert’s (R-TX) legislation offers a tax cut.
