I guess in Wes Kennedy’s world, there’s no room for anything except religious devotion to The One True Obama:
A South Jersey man has come up with what he hopes is a solution to a controversy over the American flag that he flew in his yard — a flag bearing the image of President Barack Obama in place of the field of stars.
Let’s try a little thought experiment here. What would Mr. Kennedy have said if we replaced the stars on the American flag with a picture of Ronald Reagan? I imagine he’d be calling on those “angry, maybe even evil-minded people” to take it down post-haste.
In point of fact, this is the first time that I can find that supporters of a politician have put his/her image on the American flag. Even FDR and JFK’s supporters never put their faces on flags as far as I can find (if I’m mistaken, let me know in comments, with a link, please). It’s just more evidence of how far their hero worship — or perhaps just plain worship — of Obama goes, sort of like Harvard’s “Understanding Obama” course. In fact, I can’t even find an American flag with Jesus’ face in place of the stars; yet this is at least the second such flag with Obama’s face on it being flown, and the first one was at a Democratic Party Headquarters in Florida, so they can’t really distance themselves from it.
The only word for it is “shameful.” These people clearly put their Dear Leader ahead of the nation.
