“A troubled and afflicted mankind looks to us, pleading for us to keep our rendezvous with destiny; that we will uphold the principles of self-reliance, self-discipline, morality, and, above all, responsible liberty for every individual that we will become that shining city on a hill.” — Ronald Wilson Reagan

Massachusetts Bans School Bake Sales

Just when you thought the lefty haven of Massachusetts couldn’t get any more wacky, they come up with something like this:

Bake sales, the calorie-laden standby cash-strapped classrooms, PTAs and booster clubs rely on, will be outlawed from public schools as of Aug. 1 as part of new no-nonsense nutrition standards, forcing fundraisers back to the blackboard to cook up alternative ways to raise money for kids.

Obama Knew Bin Laden’s Location For A Year Before The “Gutsy Call.”

Is it really a “gutsy call” if it takes you a year to make it?

General Jack Keane (Retired), the former Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, told Mike Huckabee tonight that Barack Obama knew about Osama Bin Laden’s hideout since the summer of 2010.  But Barack Obama refused to act for several months. He wanted absolute proof first that Osama was living there.  It wasn’t until May of 2011 that he agreed to attack Bin Laden’s compound, almost a year later.

BUMPED: Once again, Michael Goodwin (who wrote the article linked below) was on Fox News this morning pushing this meme, so I am bumping this post back to the front page.

My answer to his Hillary fantasies remains unchanged.

The recent Hilary Rosen flap has started this meme again:

It was a serious mistake, the result of a class-warfare strategy followed to a fault by a zealous Democrat. But inadvertently, one Hilary’s blunder could open the door to the other Hillary’s rise.

We speak of the attack on Ann Romney by Hilary (one L) Rosen. The fallout raises the odds that Hillary (two L’s) Clinton will end up as Barack Obama’s running mate.

Taliban Getting Stronger?

That’s the conclusion of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI).

The heads of the Senate and House intelligence committees said Sunday the Taliban was gaining ground, just days after President Barack Obama made a surprise trip to Afghanistan and touted the progress made in the war on terror. “I think we’d both say that what we found is that the Taliban is stronger,” said Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein on CNN’s “State of the Union,” while sitting with Republican Rep. Mike Rogers of Michigan.
