“A troubled and afflicted mankind looks to us, pleading for us to keep our rendezvous with destiny; that we will uphold the principles of self-reliance, self-discipline, morality, and, above all, responsible liberty for every individual that we will become that shining city on a hill.” — Ronald Wilson Reagan

Introducing… Edward Smith!

And another new contributor joins the CW gang. I discovered him on Ricochet.com, and he’s accepted the offer to start posting some things here.

His Ricochet bio says:

I was born and raised in Brooklyn.  I have lived, worked and studied in Baltimore, Berlin, Scotland, England and Wales. I traveled to Poland (ask me about winter in Wrocslaw!) Amsterdam, and Paris.

But I never stopped being a New Yorker.  Although, for the opportunity to raise both roses & Romano tomatoes in a big enough back yard (and still make money),  I would consider moving.  Baltimore can be very nice that way.

I served as an Independent Living Aide in Monmouth, Wales. One of his clients had advanced Muscular Dystrophy, the other had been a quadriplegic for 20 years. It was hard work. But it was very rewarding. The greatest reward was the knowledge that I helped two handicapped men lead a fuller, more enjoyable lives.  Mind you, I had a steep learning curve there … I almost got fired for a lack of sensitivity to people’s emotional needs.

I have put myself in situations requiring me learn to deal with many different people and circumstances, and am not done doing so.

BTW, this is an edited version of what goes on my Real Estate profile, so if it sounds like a pitch, it is based on one.

Welcome, Edward!

CW Is Now On Your Kindle!

And tell your friends!

And… We’re Here!

Welcome to the new Conservative-Wanderer.com!

All the old posts from the old blog have been moved, unfortunately, the media (images, etc) didn’t make the transition. As time permits, I’ll work on moving them over, but it may take a while. Comments also didn’t make the transition, and I’ll be investigating ways to get them to move over. We are moving to the Disqus comment system, it’s currently chewing over importing all the comments from the old blog.

I’ll also be tweaking things for the next few days, so things might look a little different from one visit to the next.

Meanwhile, enjoy! All new posts will appear here from this point forward.

An Announcement

I’ve been considering and praying about this over the weekend, and I think I’ve decided what I’m going to do.

Since being invited to be a contributor to the PJ Tatler, I’ve been cross-posting several of my posts, but for several reasons (including the extra time and work involved), I don’t think I want to continue doing things that way. Therefore, I’ll be concentrating my blogging on the Tatler for the foreseeable future (or for as long as they’ll have me). This blog will stay up to serve as an archive of my earlier blog posts and thoughts.

You can see all my Tatler posts at this link (it’s automatically updated every time a post of mine is published), but why limit yourself? Drop in and take a look at all the posts on the Tatler.

I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Update 16 March:

For reasons that I won’t go into publicly, I am no longer a contributor at the PJ Tatler. The decision may be reversed, but I’m not holding out much hope, so I’m going to be posting a lot of stuff here for the foreseeable future.

I’m Back! And Better Than Ever!

Again, please forgive me for the long blogging hiatus.

Between the holidays and some major changes at work and in my personal life, this little corner of the blogosphere kinda got put on the back burner for a while. However, something happened today that served to re-spark (is that a word?) my love of blogging.

I’ve been invited to contribute to the PJ Tatler!

I’ll be writing my first piece for the Tatler as soon as I post this, so keep your eyes open. Some posts will be cross-posted (that is, appear both places), some will be Tatler exclusives, and some will be exclusive to my little old home blog here.

Thanks for your patience with my absence… the best is yet to come!
