Vacation!

As soon as I get done with work today, I will officially be on vacation for about the next week and a half.

Depending on time and events (both things that I am doing and things happening in the wider world), I may or may not be posting anything during vacation. Regular blogging should–God willing–resume on or around Monday, 12 September.

And lemme tell ya, it felt good to turn the alarm off this morning instead of just resetting it for tomorrow… and I can’t wait to hang a sign on my monitor at work just before I leave. :)

(Un)Lucky 1,300!

Before I even realized it, WordPress tells me that this is our 1,300th blog post here!

So, while I am not a believer in triskaidekaphobia, except maybe on Monday the 13th (Mondays are worse than Fridays, therefore Monday the 13th is worse than Friday the 13th), I’d like to see if I can stave off any bad luck by taking this opportunity to thank all my co-bloggers, and our readers, for helping us hit this milestone.

There’s lots more blogging to come… stay tuned!

Internet Issues…

UPDATE and BUMP: The net has been up and down for me since this original post. I’m researching alternate ways to connect, but until either I can find one, or my current ISP gets its act together, posting will be sporadic. Please keep checking back or consider subscribing so that you can get posts in email.

I will be back to a regular schedule as soon as I can get on regularly to find good stories and post about them, I promise!

High winds in my area seem to be playing havoc with internet connectivity. Posting will resume as soon as possible.

I’m Back Again!

Sorry for light blogging last week… I was having some potentially life-threatening issues with the “hidden disability” I’ve mentioned here a few times, and spent more time than I like in the local ER. Fortunately, thanks to our amazing American medical system, I got care in a timely fashion, and so far it appears that we’ve gotten past the crisis.

Thanks to all those that sent messages asking where I was and how I was doing, and your good wishes and prayers.

1,002 Posts And Counting!

I almost didn’t realize it, but we passed the 1,000th post earlier today… this one here is 1,002, which would make the earlier post about the judge holding the government in contempt of court the 1,000th.

We’re currently at 829 approved comments, let’s see who can be #850… can’t promise a prize, though I might surprise someone, but we can at least give you bragging rights!

New Blog Feature: Ratings for Posts and Comments

Just a quick heads up to everyone… I’ve enabled WordPress’ new Ratings feature to both blog posts and comments. The one for blog posts is a 5-star system, 1 star being the lowest, and 5 the highest, while the one for comments is a simple thumbs-up or thumbs-down. However, both of these can be changed to either style, so we’ll see what reader opinion says… leave a comment if you’d like to see one of them changed to the other style.
