African-American Pastors Condemning Obama’s Gay Marriage Stance

This is probably something he didn’t expect and didn’t want, but he’s stuck with it now.

When Obama announced that his position on same-sex marriage had evolved, it outraged some African-American pastors like Pastor and Del. Emmett Burns.

“He has said to his base, African-Americans, ‘I am going against your beliefs and your thoughts,’” Burns said.

Anti-Christian Bully Stands By Comments

Saturday I blogged about a speaker at an anti-bullying event turning into an anti-Christian bully himself. Today he says he stands by most of his comments.

Columnist and gay-rights advocate Dan Savage is standing by his comment that “we can learn to ignore the bulls**t in the Bible about gay people” at a recent conference for high school students, a line that prompted some to walk out and spurred intense online debate.

Anti-Bullying Speaker Turns Into Anti-Christian Bully

Way to practice what you preach.

As many as 100 high school students walked out of a national journalism conference after an anti-bullying speaker began cursing, attacked the Bible and reportedly called those who refused to listen to his rant “pansy assed.”

Savage, and his husband, were also guests at the White House for President Obama’s 2011 LGBT Pride Month reception. He was also invited to a White House anti-bullying conference.

Catholics Planning Two Weeks Of Protest Against Obama

The protests are expected to include priests and nuns and thousands of Catholic parishioners. Some activists expect civil disobedience, which could lead to powerful images of priests and nuns being led away in hand restraints.

Timothy Cardinal Dolan On Government Contraception Mandate

Over the weekend Timothy Cardinal Dolan was on Face the Nation, and he spoke out on many issues, including separation of church and state, whether you should vote for or against Romney because he’s a Mormon, and of course the mandate that religious institutions and companies have to provide contraception coverage.

The video is below the fold. If you’re just interested in his comments on the mandate, it starts about 5:15 in the clip.
