Why Should The GOP Show Up At The Obama Health Care Summit?

President Obama will be staging a televised production known as a “health care summit”.  To be sure, the leftists in attendance will deliver their spoon-fed talking points and make sure to mention the GOP as being the party of “no” at least 100 times or more (exaggeration?) [Article - Let's scream at each other about health reform].

If leftists like Obama, Pelosi, Reid, et al want to use the summit as a platform to attack and smear the GOP and I think it would be a mistake on the Republicans’ part if they don’t think that is what will happen, I say we should let them spout talking points given to them by their left-wing base and rehash worn-out rhetoric from the past year for all the viewers to see and hear.

What the Republicans need to do is be concise, direct, and non-confrontational.  They should state their case before the American people and offer up their ideas, which have been constantly turned down by Obama and congressional Democrats.  The Obama administration has been so kind as to post them on the White House’s web site, so let’s see if Obama can put his money where his mouth is [A Bipartisan Meeting on Health Reform].

It shouldn’t take long for the Republicans to find out if the “summit” is just a forum to espouse leftist propaganda and Republican-bashing sputum.  If that turns out to be the case, they need to stand up, turn toward the door, and walk right out.

Death Throes: AGW and US Healthcare Reform

AGW and ‘US healthcare reform’ (HCR) are siblings today.  ‘Siblings’ in exhibiting signs of well-deserved (for their detractors) and painful (for their supporters) demise.  Though, while I believe AGW is in its death spiral (AGW death throes), HCR seems to have more lives than a litter of kittens (HCR – proof of life).

The parallels of each ’crisis’ are undeniable.  On the AGW side there are the ‘warmists’ who are basically saying ‘if we don’t stop AGW by getting rid of all that contributes to it, the planet is doomed’.  On the HCR side we have President Obama now saying,

If we don’t pass it, here’s the guarantee….your premiums will go up, your employers are going to load up more costs on you,” he said. “Potentially they’re going to drop your coverage, because they just can’t afford an increase of 25 percent, 30 percent in terms of the costs of providing health care to employees each and every year.

The president said that the costs of Medicare and Medicaid are on an “unsustainable” trajectory and if there is no action taken to bring them down, “the federal government will go bankrupt.”

Sen. Reid has done everything he could to get all 60 Senators who caucus with him to vote for cloture on his HCR bill (Sen. Lieberman – I (NH) ).  This has angered those that demand a ‘public option’ such as Sen. Burris - D (IL), as noted by CW below: Democrat Infighting May Doom ObamaCare

With transparency finally coming to the data behind AGW theory, Cope – 15 in disarray, and legal preparation being made, AGW will die.  The question that remains is exactly how long the ‘consensus’ theme will remain.  The UN will do all it can to maintain it even though the theory itself is now scientifically untenable.  That, by itself, should convince anyone who is ‘on the fence’ that AGW is nothing but a global Ponzi scheme.

HCR still has some legs.  If Sen. Nelson – D (NE) falls into the ‘yes for cloture’ pile, Sen. Reid will have his 60.  Then the conference committee will get to work torturing both versions into one that the negotiators (most likely all Democrats) like.  The changes in conference may or may not be considered sufficient enough for another full debate in both houses and the bill could end up on the President’s desk in fairly short order.  If the 60 yes votes don’t materialize, and soon, the signature agenda item President Obama demanded will most likely die on the vine thanks to the 2010 election year, notwithstanding Pelosi’s message linked above.  Whether you are or not a constituent of Sen. Nelson – D (NE), contact him to let him know you support his “no” vote on cloture.

So, two liberal boondoggles in various stages of death.  All that remains is to continue to the fight against both and hope zombification doesn’t take hold.

U.S. House Passes Health Care Reform Bill, Ignores Will Of American People

In a brazen act of defiance against over 50 percent of the American people, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and her fellow leftist statists in the U.S. House of Representatives passed the monstrosity known as H.R. 3962 – Affordable Health Care for America Act [Article - House passes health care reform bill; Vote garners only one Republican].

The snag in the works was getting so-called “moderate” “Blue Dog” Democrats to vote for the “deficit neutral” bill. How did Pelosi get so-called “Blue Dog” Democrats to vote for passage of the bill? There was certainly some arm-twisting that was done by leftist Democrats and President Obama himself; however, by simply inserting a stipulation known as the “Stupak Amendment“, which limits, but does not eliminate coverage and funding for abortions, that’s all it took for so-called “moderate” Democrats to submit an “up” vote.

Never mind the insertion of items that don’t have anything to do with health care reform and that raise taxes on people whom President Obama promised would not be taxed. Never mind that over 50 percent of Americans do not want a public “option” or in other words, government-run health care [Rasmussen Report - Health Care Reform].

Self-serving, hyper-ambitious politicians on all levels of government do not care about the will of the American people. They do not genuinely care about the health and well-being of the American people. They have proven time and again that they are nothing but a group of haughty, arrogant, elitist power and money grabbers with an aristocratic sense of predestinate entitlement.

The next election cycle is only a year away. A lot can happen in a year and those who want to retain their positions of power will do their best (or worst) to pull the wool over their constituents’ eyes in an effort to get re-elected. They know that the memories of the people they claim to represent are short. They are banking on that knowledge because it is a successful time-tested strategy.

So-called health care reform is only one link in a longer chain of enslavement that leftist bosses are forging for America. They are only a couple of links away from completing that chain. After the chain is complete, it will be almost impossible to break it.

What will you do? Will you vote for or against the chain? The 2010 elections should give us an indication.

Obamanomics: FAIL

How is Obamanomics working for us lately? Has there been job creation such has not been seen since the Reagan years? Are there “shovel ready” jobs popping up everywhere? Is unemployment in the eight to nine percent range? Is the dollar rebounding and strengthening in value? Is the United States still ensconced as a financial and economic power?

More Indoctrination Of Children? What’s the excuse now?

More indoctrination of our country’s children, this time it’s in Asheville, North Carolina. What’s the excuse now? Was it Black History month?

This was at a PTA meeting, no less. How many parents in attendance were offended? I didn’t hear any background noise in the video, so I assume that parents who were offended didn’t want to take school officials to task in front of their children. They likely waited until after the “show” to calmly and tactfully express their displeasure. At least, I hope that was the case and that they just didn’t sit there passively after their children were finished spreading leftist propaganda.

Obama: Iran Secretly Built Another Uranium Enrichment Facility

This is no revelation to those who have been researching and investigating Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Iran has been building up its nuclear program since 1974. The program was in stasis for a few years as a result of the 1979 revolution, but started back up in the 1990s.

The G.W. Bush administration had been ramping up pressure on Iran to cease enriching uranium for the express purpose of producing weapons. However, this was seen by state-run media and leftist politicians as a tactic to divert attention away from Iraq, Afghanistan and the global war on terror. Not surprisingly, their views on Iran have changed, since Obama became President.

What the present leaders of European nations and the United States fail to recognize is that Iran and other nations like it don’t play by the so-called rules. They don’t care about world opinion. They share the same goal, that being world domination, at any cost. He Wants Your Kids (Continued): School Children Sing About Obama

In keeping with the theme of a previous ACW post, video of school children singing the praises of the esteemed ruler, savior of the world, potentate and “god” (with a small “g”) Obama has been released:

I wonder how many more schools are allowing this to happen. Given the dismal condition of America’s public education system, one would think that our country’s schools should be concentrating on actually educating our children, instead of singing songs praising a person who has done nothing to raise the spirits of every American, since he has been inaugurated. Politics should stay out of pre-elementary, elementary, junior high and middle schools, period. There are political science-type classes in high school, but lesson plans of those classes should be neutral in political affiliation and not promote one ideology over another. Continue reading →

The U.S. dollar continues to take a dive in value, but why? I thought our recession was slowing. I thought there was light at the end of the economic tunnel. What is going on?
